Audio books are magnificent opportunities in listening entertainment and education. I have always enjoyed reading as many as possible of the great classic novels, mysteries, comedy plays, educational and instructional courses; and, history manuscripts including most type books of adventure. However, to read, as much as I would like to will take a few hundred years. Even if I were to do nothing else and read only, I would not be able to spend enough waking hours allowing me the time necessary to peruse all the works I wish to do so. I must admit, I lacked understanding and knowledge of audio books; thereby, making too many negative judgments on their capabilities; and, having little insight to the pleasures these works could provide. I was under the assumption that I must read the written words in a book to enjoy and appreciate any true value and quality for an authors’ writing talents. I was very mistaken. Listening to unabridged audio books increases a higher quality and appreciation for which I never could imagine. Listening to dramatizations, additionally, produces splendorous in depth adaptation. In fact, I can enjoy overwhelming comprehension and great pleasure in a greater awareness for an author and their creative aptitude and value to society. I become mesmerized and captivated with the flow of words, the structure and the ability of the author’s expression in the written language even as I listen to the many different readers’ of unabridged audio books available. Additional, the joy to the fascination is that I can listen to a classic such as Jane Eyre in hours versus what may take months to read the high number of pages. I am able to encounter a greater capacity to listen and appreciate so many more novels, mysteries, dramatizations, comedies or instructive audio books, and possibly more, per week, month or year than ever possible with reading. I am enthralled over such great resources. I can find only one disadvantage to the great resourceful means; that is it can become very expensive to appreciate so many various audio books. There are alternatives for varying resources. It is possible to obtain free or purchase discounted new and used audio books. There can be advantages in audio book savings; however, this can also be too expensive if you wish to listen to more than two or three per month. Audiobook Clubs, I will mention later in this Blog, have limitations such as format type and a monthly fee that limits only a couple of audio books per month. Purchasing an unlimited access to audio books per month can be expensive. There are alternative online sites that allow you to purchase for downloads or on CD-ROM/DVD the audio books with no membership fee or quantity limitations. However, different sites offer different type formats that may not transfer to MP3 Players, an iPod or other style device. IMPORTANT TIP: Not all CD-ROM, DVD and MP3 Players will be compatible with all formats of Audio Books. Please see the article on What MP3 Player should you buy for audio books. On a regular basis, I will provide my interpretations and reviews on a variety of audiobooks. Additionally, I will report on the negatives and positives for a variety of audiobook devices. I will offer my considerations and opinions on some of the audiobook websites and the availability of their audio book products. Please check back often for I will review and discuss many different issues related to listening and enjoying audiobooks. You may not agree with my notions and concepts; however, you will always be able to register and leave your comments. I encourage any information or opinions you may have. Here are just some of the exciting audio books;
The above-mentioned list is only a very small sample of the valuable classics of great magnitude and importance in literary works over the ages.. It is so refreshing to listen to audio books for such classics; as well as have an opportunity to know more about such talented authors.
